En Primeur Fragrant and herbal, without excess of sweetness, allowing the acidity to shine through with a nice refreshing greenish tinge to it, this wine has a run-through of very pure fruit flavours (white fruit: pears, golden apples) that will make it ideal for fairly early drinking. Bill Blatch
Wine Advocate – En Primeur, 90-92pts: This has a very rich, almost decadent nose with pineapple, almond, orange blossom and honey. The palate is rich with an admirable level of botrytis, well balanced with a fine sense of underlying minerality that defines the caressing, spice-tinged finish. Good potential. This is a Bastor-Lamontagne that is rediscovering form. Bravo!
Wine Spectator – Feb 2012, 89 pts: Flashy, with quince and creamed yellow apple notes spiked with lively kumquat and tangerine notes. The finish bounces along nicely with good balance to the frank sweetness. Drink now through 2018.
En Primeur, 87-90 pts: Lemon meringue pie aromas follow through to a full body, with tangy acidity and dried fruits. Medium sweetness and medium finish.
Decanter – En Primeur, 15.5 pts: Ripe pear aromas, pure, rich in texture but less round, more nervous than most, with a refreshing sensation of acidity. Pure, balanced but not the most faithful style of 2009.
Jancis Robinson – Oct 2011, 16 pts: Light and barley sugar with a streak of lime. Attractive! Pears but not the most concentrated, but one of the most alluring Bastor-Lamontagnes I can remember, even if it lacks the subtlety of its grander peers.
En Primeur, 15.5pts: Not much nose. Rather a simple nose in fact with a hint of burnt sugar. There is acidity and there is sweetness but I can’t see much botrytis and it’s only medium weight. Alcohol on the end. Simple barley sugar. Drink 2014-2020
